My name is Amanda Baptist and I mostly go under the nickname AmandaBB. I came up with this nickname during my marriage. It’s not valid anymore but it’s a easy nickname so I decided to keep it.
I was born in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) on April 8 1981 and have spent 4.5 years in the desert of California (USA) living together with my American (now) ex-husband.
I met my ex-husband in a online game named Star Wars Galaxies (SWG) and the 6000 miles that seperated us didn’t stop us from meeting each other in real life and get married on December 2I’ve had a normal youth and I grew up with a older sister and 2 younger brothers so there was always somebody at home. My parents have a 5 bedroom house so we’ve always had our own rooms and I have to admit that I spent most of my inside time there. If I wasn’t reading then I was drawing and later on computering.
I grew up with a pc in the house and I’m not to bad with it. I’m writing this now on a pc which I built myself and software wise I’ve never had to many problems either. 
I’ve had my own pc since I was 16 or so and since that time I learned a lot more about, before that I only played games on my father’s pc.
My father has normal working hours (mon-fri 8.00-16.30) and my mother choose to stay at home to take care of us kids for which I’ve always been very grateful. It was always nice to have somebody to say hi to when you got back from school.
I graduated at the age of 22 as a Maritime Officer, which allows me to be a engineer and deck officer at the same time.
I worked as a apprentice for Wagenborg on cargo ships but went to the Holland America Line to work on cruise ships since I liked to have more then 7 people around me.
I’ve been on the Baltic Sea, the North Sea, Meditteranian Sea, the Atlantac Ocean, the Pacific Ocean,the Caribbean and on the Great Lakes and have seen half the world in only 2 years but I had to quit because of my back.The hard work proved to be to much for my back and I ended up with 2 herniated discs in my lower back. I’ve been operated on those in June 2003.
A year after the operation I started the 10 day trial of a online game called Star Wars Galaxies, I’ve always been a Star wars fan and I was hooked within 4 days and ordered it straight away. After a month of playing I met a guy named Page Ova and 2.5 years later we got married.
From day 1 we just connected and after we also talked on skype and webcammed for a couple of months I decided to meet the real life Page about 9 months after we met in the game (I had to fly 6000 miles for it). I have to say that he was exactly the same person as in the game.
I flew back and forward for 5 times and he was able to come one time too (he just had his new job [water-well driller]) to meet my friends and family.

We ended up having a Vegas wedding so my friends and family who couldn’t make it would be able to watch it on their computers.

My husband sadly had to much trouble handling the stress of being married and fully taking care of someone with a bad spine who can only do light house- and yardwork, take care of the finances and can’t always drive and we filled for divorce in November 2009. I’m at least glad to say that we parted on friendly terms…
I moved back to the Netherlands and currently life with my brother Raymond (who is also single) in a apartment together with my dog, 3 mice, hamster and his 4 rats and spent my time on looking for a job that I can do with my 75% disabled body.
